PREREQUISITE: Improv 3
Improv is more joyful and easeful to do and watch when players work together to collaboratively create comedy. Yet so often, we find ourselves in conflict which stalls out the progress - and the fun - of the scene. We'll practice initiating positive connections to move forward together with joy and ease and turning "you against me" into "you and me against the world" scenes. Come work on happier scenes with Pam!
Pam Victor is the Head of Happiness (founder/president) of Happier Valley Comedy, where Pam gets to teach improv to the best students in the world. (That's you!) Pam is the creator of The Joy & Ease of Improv curriculum. She also brings the power of improvisation to the workplace in Happier Valley Comedy's professional development and workplace wellness programs. Pam is the author of the children's therapeutic fiction book "Baj and the Word Launcher: Space Age Aspergers Adventures in Communication." Along with improv greats TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi, Pam co-authored "Improvisation at the Speed of Life: The TJ and Dave Book." Students get preview access to her upcoming "The Joy & Ease of Improv Companion Book" that guides students through the first four levels of our improv curriculum. A Smith College graduate with a Master's in Elementary Education from Iona College (NY), Pam received improv training from iO Theater (Chicago,) Annoyance Theater (Chicago,) Improv Boston, Second City Chicago teachers, and mostly from getting onstage over and over and over for the last couple decades. In 2019, Pam was awarded the New England Public Radio Arts & Humanities Award. She also is a TEDx speaker. Pam is a kind person and she likes you already.
Masks are not required, but they are always welcome.
