PREREQUISITE: Improv 4
Silence is a powerful tool in an improv scene. It can add weight and increase tension in a way that words sometimes cannot. But when do you use that tool? When is the best time to be quiet and let our bodies speak for us? And what the heck is our scene partner telling us in that silence? Let's explore that in this two hour workshop. Let's learn to read the mood of the scene and discover how to powerfully convey our message without being verbal.
Christine Mirabal is a longtime improvisor. She has studied improv for over a decade and has performed with various groups over the years, including the Happier Valley Comedy Championship Show. She has been developing her workshop on silent improv for a few years and is excited to expand it into a course in the Fall. In her spare time, she paints and writes.
Masks are not required, but they are always welcome.
