In this workshop, players will practice active listening and reacting. What happens when you actually listen to your scene partner instead of thinking up things to say? The results might surprise you!

Silence will be used as a tool to respond to your partner more authentically. We'll practice using our emotions to get at the heart of what our characters desire. We'll focus on what our character is feeling and letting that show in our bodies and on our faces. And of course we'll do the most important thing in improv: we'll connect with our scene partners.

Christine Mirabal is a longtime improvisor. She has studied improv for over a decade and has performed with various groups over the years, including the Happier Valley Comedy Championship Show. She has been developing her workshop on silent improv for a few years and is excited to expand it into a course in the Fall. In her spare time, she paints and writes.

Masks are not required, but they are always welcome.
